Install the app

Add ComboPal to your home screen for a full-screen version that opens like an app and works offline.

Open your browser menu and choose Install app or Add to Home Screen.

Getting started

What is ComboPal?

A Muay Thai combo caller. It calls random combinations out loud while you train, on a round timer with bells and rest, so you can drill without planning every sequence. Open the site and press Start; no account needed.

Do I need an account?

No. Everything works signed out: pick a workout or build a session and go. An account only adds syncing your saved workouts, settings and history across devices, and it is free.

Do I need to install an app?

No, it runs in your browser. On a phone you can use Add to Home Screen for a full-screen, app-like version that still works offline.

How do I start a session?

On the home screen choose Workouts and tap one, or Build and tick some combos, then press Start. The first time on a device it rings a bell and asks whether you heard it, to check your sound is on.

Does it work offline?

Yes. The app always reads from your device first and keeps working with no connection. When you are signed in and back online it syncs in the background.

Workouts and Build

What is the difference between Workouts and Build?

Workouts are ready-made sessions with the round structure baked in: number of rounds, timing, and a focus per round. Build lets you pick your own combos, drill repeats, and optional per-round pools, then run them.

Can I change a workout's rounds or timing?

A workout's round shape is fixed. Your own settings for rest, gap between calls and the get-ready countdown still apply. To change the structure, use Build or save your own workout.

How do drill repeats work?

In Build, set a combo to repeat by a number and it will be called that many times in a row when it comes up, with a Rep badge. It is a good way to groove one combination.

What are round pools?

An optional per-round list of combos, so round one can draw from one set and round two from another. They only apply when a session has two or more rounds.

Can I save my own workout?

Yes. Build a session and save it. Signed in, your saved workouts sync across your devices. A free account can keep two; a subscription lifts the limit.

What is a quick session?

A Build session you run without saving. It is remembered on that device so you can tweak and run it again, but it does not count against your saved-workout limit.

Rounds and calling

What do the round modes mean?

Time rounds run a fixed clock with a single warning bell ten seconds before the end. Combo-count rounds last for a set number of calls instead of a clock.

What are the bells?

A round opens and closes with bells, and a time round also rings one warning bell ten seconds before the end. Ending a round early still rings the closing bells.

Can I change the speed or gap during a session?

Yes. The live controls have a speed stepper and a gap stepper. Changes apply to the rest of the session and are saved as your defaults for next time.

Disciplines

What are disciplines?

Boxing, Muay Thai, American Kickboxing and K-1 Kickboxing. Your choice filters the moves, combos and workouts you see to what belongs in that art. You are asked once on your first visit and can change it any time in Settings.

How do the disciplines relate?

They nest. Every boxing move is allowed in American Kickboxing, every American move in K-1, and every K-1 move in Muay Thai. So a boxer's combos still appear, lower down, for a Muay Thai user.

Will switching discipline lose my selection?

No. A selected, in-progress or saved item stays usable after you switch; only the browsing lists are filtered. Your own combos and workouts are never hidden.

Coaches, voice and language

Who is calling the combos?

A voice pack, shown as a coach with a name, accent and style. Subscribers choose their coach; everyone else is given one at random per session, so the voice stays consistent from the first bell to the last.

There is no sound. What should I check?

Make sure the device is not muted and the volume is up. The first Start rings a test bell; if you did not hear it, follow the on-screen troubleshooting. On an iPhone, audio only unlocks after you tap Start, so start from the button rather than expecting sound earlier.

Southpaw or orthodox?

Set your stance in Settings. Calls that name a side are mirrored to your stance automatically, so a lead or rear weapon is always the right hand or leg for you. Nothing is stored as left or right.

Names or numbers?

Call style in Settings switches between spoken move names and boxing numbers where a move has one.

What languages are supported?

The interface is in English and Spanish, chosen in Settings. Coaches are recorded per language, so your session is called in the language you read in.

Accounts and sync

How do I sign in?

With Google, from Settings. Signing in syncs your saved workouts, preferences and training history across your devices, and is free.

What syncs across devices?

Your saved workouts, your preferences (stance, call style, speed, rest, gap, countdown, language and discipline) and your session history. Your chosen coach and light or dark theme stay per device.

Sign-in fails on my phone.

Sign in from the same web address the app is served at. Starting the sign-in from a different address on your network can drop it and show a server error; open the app's normal link and try again.

Free and subscription

What is free?

Training is completely free with no account: the caller, rounds, bells and rest, a coach each session, Build, and six core workouts per discipline. A free account adds cross-device sync and the last seven days of history.

What does a subscription add?

Choosing which coach calls your session, keeping more than two saved workouts, the extra subscriber-only workouts in each discipline, and your full training history rather than the last seven days.

How many workouts can I save for free?

Two on a free account. A subscription removes the limit. If you are over the limit later, you keep and can edit what you have; you just cannot add more until you subscribe or delete one.

Why are some workouts locked?

Each discipline gives you six core workouts free. The rest are subscriber-only and appear under a Subscribed heading on the Workouts page, so you can see what a subscription would add.

Stats and history

What does Stats show?

The workouts you have started and finished, your total time trained, and how often each combo has been called. Recent sessions are listed with their date and duration. Anything with no activity is left out.

How far back does my history go?

A free account shows the last seven days; a subscription shows all of it, so subscribing reveals older sessions rather than them being deleted. Signed out, sessions are kept on your device and move into your account when you sign in.

Privacy

What data is stored?

Your combos, workouts, settings and stats live in your browser on your device. Signed in, they also sync to your account so you can train across devices. The Privacy page has the full detail.

Still stuck?

Check the Privacy page for what is stored, or your device sound settings if a session is silent.
