Lead Body Kick → Lead Head Kick

Advanced

Lead Body Kick to Lead Head Kick is a same-leg trap: two kicks off the same side without putting the foot down. The body shot lowers the guard so the head kick clears it.

What this combo trains

This advanced sequence builds balance, hip control, and the deception of attacking the same target twice by different heights. The body kick drags the elbows down to protect the ribs, and the head kick goes straight over the top of them off the same leg. Kicking twice without resetting the foot demands real single-leg stability and constant hip drive.

Step by step

  1. 1.
    Lead Body Kick

Rip the lead roundhouse into the ribs or open side, committing enough to pull their elbows down to defend the body.

  2. 2.
    Lead Head Kick

Without planting the foot, reload the same lead leg and swing it high over their lowered guard, usually stepping or switching to load the head kick over the top.

Common mistakes

  • Putting the kicking foot down between kicks, which resets the trap and loses the same-leg advantage.
  • Throwing a soft body kick that does not actually drag the elbows down, so the head kick meets a high guard.
  • Losing balance on the standing leg during the reload and falling off the head kick.
  • Telegraphing the second kick high before their guard has dropped.

Who it suits

An advanced combination demanding strong single-leg balance, mirrored to orthodox or southpaw by the app. Best for kickers confident throwing repeat shots off one leg.

Why it works

Same leg twice without putting it down: the body kick drags the elbows down and the head kick goes over the top of them.
