Body Cross → Rear Knee → Rear Horizontal Elbow

Intermediate

Three strikes that never leave close range: torso, torso, head. Each one drives the guard the wrong way, opening the target for the strike behind it.

What this combo trains

This is a pure inside-range sequence, and its logic is misdirection: each strike drives their guard the wrong way for the next. The body cross and knee pull the guard down and forward, so the elbow arrives over the top into an open head. You build level-change timing, hip drive in tight spaces, and the ability to keep chaining without stepping out to reset.

Step by step

  1. 1.
    Body Cross

Dip the level and drive the body cross straight into the midsection off the rear hip, pulling their guard down to protect the torso.

  2. 2.
    Rear Knee

Spear the rear knee up through the same midsection, driving the hip forward and dragging their posture further down and in.

  3. 3.
    Rear Horizontal Elbow

Whip the rear horizontal elbow (sok ti) across the jaw or brow into the head their lowered guard has left exposed.

Common mistakes

  • Standing tall on the body cross instead of dipping the level, which telegraphs the shot and weakens it.
  • Throwing the elbow before the guard has dropped, so it clips the gloves instead of the head.
  • Pushing the knee rather than spearing it, failing to bend their posture the way the next strike needs.
  • Drifting out of range between strikes and losing the tight, connected rhythm the combo depends on.

Who it suits

An intermediate inside-fighting combo for those comfortable in the pocket. It runs from orthodox or southpaw because the app mirrors every strike to your stance.

Why it works

Pure inside-range (torso, torso, head), and each strike drives their guard the wrong way for the next.
