Rear Parry → Lead Teep → Rear Kick

Intermediate

Built for handling a pressure fighter, this combo resets your distance and then punishes it. The parry buys the middle, the teep buys the space, and the rear kick takes advantage of both.

What this combo trains

This trains distance management against someone walking you down. The rear parry deflects the jab across and opens a counter down the middle, the lead teep re-establishes range and knocks the opponent off balance, and the rear kick, the signature Muay Thai weapon, drives through the target while they are still recovering. It develops timing, range control, and the ability to convert a defensive read into a fight-changing kick.

Step by step

  1. 1.
    Rear Parry

Deflect their jab across your body with the rear hand, opening the line down the middle while keeping your stance square and ready.

  2. 2.
    Lead Teep

Fire the lead teep off the front leg into their midsection, pushing them back to re-establish range and tip them off balance.

  3. 3.
    Rear Kick

As they stumble, drive the rear roundhouse through with full hip rotation, kicking through the target rather than at it.

Common mistakes

  • Reaching for the parry and getting drawn out of position instead of deflecting compactly and holding the middle.
  • Teeping with the leg alone; without pushing your hips into it the kick will not off-balance a pressuring opponent.
  • Rushing the rear kick before the teep has done its job, so you swing into a target that is still set and balanced.
  • Dropping the hands as you throw the rear kick, leaving you open if they close the gap.

Who it suits

An intermediate combo suited to fighters learning to control distance under pressure. It works from both orthodox and southpaw because the app mirrors every left and right to your stance.

Why it works

The teep re-establishes range against a pressure fighter and knocks them off balance for the kick.
